How to make your website Green in 2010

"Going Green" is not only trendy, it preserves our environment and can even improve business. You may find customers and site visitors inquiring in the coming years if you are a green business. Well, here are a few ways to go green online:

• The parent company of our web hosting platform, Rackspace, is making strides to become a greener hosting company through the use of solar powered servers, computer server recycling, in-house company recycling and "green fairs". Learn more about the initiative here or learn more about greenspace here.

• We recycle our old computers! You can do the same, learn more here, or recycle locally here.

• Is your website print-friendly? When you go to print one page does it take up 3 or 4 sheets of paper, or just one? We can make your website printer-friendly - click here to inquire about getting this done.

• We telecommute - In December, Workhorse moved into a new office location. However, many of our people telecommute and only come in to the office for meetings, or to collaborate on projects. This saves fuel, money in overhead that ends up saving clients money.

How to best use
Social Networking
to improve your site
during 2010

Using social media such as Twitter, Facebook, Myspace, YouTube and others can help to improve the traffic on your site. If you aren't sure of the best ways to employ these, or want to know which mediums would be best for your site, let us know and we'll suggest the best ways for you to use these features on your site.

For instance - Did you know that your Twitter feed can be displayed right on your website? People don't need to actually go to Twitter to read your posts.

The same is true of Facebook Fan pages and YouTube videos - using your account, we can pull your social medium directly into your website, so that folks can see all of your information in one easy place.

Let us know how we can help you in the coming year to add social networking to your arsenal of marketing tools. We're here to help.
